Q: What is Phi Gamma Delta and how is it organized?
A: Phi Gamma Delta is a social fraternity for college men which was founded in 1848. Today Phi Gamma Delta is organized through a National Governing Body which we often refer to as "National" which administers local University and College Undergraduate Chapters. Because our fraternity is "Not for College Days alone!" we have many graduate chapters across the country consisting of graduates in each local area. The Arlington Graduate Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta is made up primarily of graduates from the University of Texas as Arlington, but we also have members who are graduates of many other Universities around the country.
Q: What is the mission of the Arlington Graduate Chapter?
A: Our graduate chapter, as with all Fiji Graduate Chapters, is one way that we maintain our life long associations, give back to our University, and provide support to our Undergraduate Chapters. Here in Arlington, we have provided a Chapter House on Campus for our undergraduates, mentored and guided Fiji undergraduates, assisted in philanthropic endeavors, and provided educational presentations on practical topics of benefit to the Undergraduates. Each year our Chapter (as with most Graduate Chapters) holds the Frank Norris Pig Dinner. for Graduates and Undergraduates. Its an opportunity to renew associations, relive college experiences, and continue to build brotherhood.
Q: How large is the Arlington Graduate Chapter?
A: The Phi Tau Chapter Of Phi Gamma Delta has been in existance for Fifty Years. We have well over six hundred graduates from the University of Texas at Arlington and many Fiji's from other schools as well. Our Graduate Brothers come and go as life dictates, but they are always a part of Chapter and they are always welcome as if they had never been away when they return. Currently we have slightly less than 75 active members of the Arlington Graduate Chapter.
Q: Does the Arlington Graduate Chapter affiliate with political, religious, or other groups besides the Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity?
A: No. Our Graduate Chapter is made up of very diverse Fiji's who share common ideals and aspirations such as Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality and Excellence, but our membership is made up of individuals from the wide spectrum of American life and values.
